Halloween Bento Boxes - 4 Ways!

Updated: Oct 29, 2020

This Halloween is a bit different but that doesn't mean we can't make it just as fun! If you're inviting people over for a small Halloween gathering, trying making these Halloween Bento Boxes! These Bento Boxes are great for serving individual sized portions. They eliminate many hands touching a food platter, which makes food handling much safer. Not to mention, they're super cute!

To make a Bento Box all you need is a plastic to-go box. We used these plastic to-go containers. You can use whichever box you prefer, as long as it has a lid!

Sweet Box

Fill it up with all your favorite snacks! Make sure there's at least one snack that's Halloween-themed. We used Popcorn, Cheese Balls, Garden Veggie's Ghost & Bat Chips, and Orange and Black Tortilla Chips.

Dip & Chip Box

Chips & Dip make the perfect appetizer or snack! In mini cauldrons, add your favorite dip. We're serving homemade guacamole in ours! Want more variety? You can also make a spooky single serve 5-layer dip with spider webs.

Then pair it with a bento box of chips, add your favorites, like Fritos or DIY Tortilla Chips. Limor paired the guac with bat chips from Trader Joe's and Blue and Orange chips.

Savory Box

Fill this box up with all your favorite savory foods! You can put main dishes in here as well but appetizer sized foods tend to fit better.

We used Hot Dog Mummies, Spidery Deviled Eggs, Zombie Eye Meatballs. If you're looking for other Halloween recipes for your box, check here for some inspiration!

DIY Box

This is a great box because it allows kids to have some sweet snacks but also create a (gross) treat themselves, which kills some time with a fun DIY activity!

We made spooky 'dirt' cups. All you need is a Snack Pack Pudding cup (we used chocolate but any flavor works). Then add cookie crumbles, gummy worms, googly eyes, gummy Pumpkins, candy corn, jelly beans, etc - any candy or treats you like! To make it COVID-friendly, add each treat into a tiny container, similar to these.
