Packing Lunch Made Easier!

We're rounding up some tips and tricks to make packing your kiddos (or your) lunch easier. Because sometimes we don't have time to cook the night before, or even pack it, and sometimes you only have two minutes until school drop off.

We're rounding up some tips that you can start implementing today!

Tip 1: Use A Calendar

Using a calendar, will keep yourself from eating out, accidentally leaving food to go to waste, and help with finances, so you don't spend money on wasted food. Meal prep is easy, just pick out your meals for the week and boom! But so you remember, hold yourself accountable and write them on a calendar. The kiddos won't ask you a million times what's for lunch or dinner, point them to the calendar. Shop tons of options for calendars here.

Tip 2: Produce Keepers

Making sure your food always stays fresh is a struggle. It's hard to keep which ones will expire first and then base your meals around those food items. To ensure fresher produce, buy some containers! they'll help keep produce fresh by trapping and absorbing ethylene gas, increasing the airflow to help prevent moisture buildup with a removable basket, and the vent on top helps maintain optimum humidity levels. You can buy them here.

Tip 3: Silicone Cupcake Liners

Silicone cupcake liners are the best way to keep several snacks separated from each other within the same container. You can mix and match the colors, shapes, etc. You can buy these here.

Tip 4: Reusable Bags

Reusable bags make it possible for you to have a waste-free packaged lunch! Perfect for any food: crackers, fruit, veggies, nuts, etc. These bags are washable, leak-proof, and freezer safe! You can purchase these here.

Tip 5: Motivational Water Bottles

Let's face it, we never drink enough water, even if we think we do. One of the most important habits to adopt is drinking water all day long! Sometimes it’s hard to keep track of how much water you’re drinking, which is when a motivational water bottle holds you accountable. You can buy this one and others here.

Tip 6: Snack Station

A snack station is the perfect solution for when everyone is running out of the house and you need to grab lunch options as quick as possible. All you have to do is pre-pack snacks in zipper bags, or the re-usable ones mentioned above, and keep them in a 'safe space' in the fridge for easy grabbing.

It only takes a few minutes to prep the snacks and make for easy grab and go, instead of spending money at the school or work vending machine.

Tip 7: Mason Jars For Salads

We found a solution for your salads not getting soggy! In a mason jar, add your dressing first and then the rest of your salad ingredients. When you're ready to eat the salad, mix in directly in the mason jar (depending on how big your salad is) or mix them in another bowl and enjoy! You can find the complete guide and recipes here.
