Do you watch The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and every time they talk about Midge’s famous brisket you salivate at your TV? The show recently shared their not so top-secret recipe to Midge’s Brisket! It’s described as life saving, show stopping, and magical. This recipe is so good it will make you want to re-binge all three seasons!
Midge’s Famous Brisket
Best to make 1 day before serving
Serves 8-10 people
1 large pan
5-6 lbs of brisket
3 medium onions
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3 cloves of minced garlic salt
Ground black pepper
1 12oz bottle chili sauce
2 15oz cans of jellied cranberry sauce
1 12oz bottle of beer
3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
In a large pan, sauté sliced onions and garlic in oil until browned
Remove onions and garlic from the pan, salt and pepper the brisket and sear using the same pan
Once seared on all sides, add onions and garlic under the brisket
Add chili oil, cranberry sauce, beer, cider vinegar.
Sprinkle top of brisket with brown sugar
Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 3.5 hours
Refrigerate overnight and slice the next day
Cover the brisket with the sauce, warm up, and enjoy!
