National S'mores Day is August 10th! If you love S’mores but don’t have a fire pit, this recipe is the perfect oven treat! You'll be wanting S'more.
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 3/4 cup sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup flour
3/4 cut cocoa powder (we like Hershey’s dark select)
1/2 tsp salt
Mix butter and sugar until well blended.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients.
Pour into a store bought graham cracker pie crust.
Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes until the top is set but the inside is only half baked.
Cool completely (about 1 hour).
Using a knife, spread 2 cups marshmallow fluff on the top of the cake. Be careful not to spread the marshmallow too close to the pie edge as it will expand and drip down the sides.
Turn the broiler on high and with the oven door open, place the pie on the top rack.
Stay in front of the oven because the marshmallow will begin to brown quickly and will need to be pulled out of the oven within seconds of browning so as not to burn. Enjoy!
